Srinagar, Feb. 8 -- CPI(M) leader Mohamad Yousuf Tarigami on Saturday said that authorities should ensure Member of Parliament Engineer Rashid's health does not deteriorate after he was shifted to a hospital in Delhi following his hunger strike.

Tarigami said that ''Rashid is a public representative, representing a parliamentary constituency, and his case should be handled fairly and given a just trial.''

"Until the court reaches a conclusion on his bail plea, we urge the authorities to ensure he receives proper medical care. We are deeply concerned about his health after being shifted to the hospital," the CPI(M) leader said.
