Moscow, Aug. 12 -- A district office in the Austrian capital of Vienna has issued its first gender-neutral travel passport, which shows the sex as "X," Vienna's society of non-binary people, Verein Nicht-Binaer, said on Monday.

"While the high courts have yet to rule on our gender lawsuits and thus the legal recognition of non-binary people in Austria, the Municipal District Office of Vienna, 15/16, has already issued Austria's first passport for a non-binary person. Emil's corrected gender entry now reads 'other,' and the corresponding passport shows an X," the organization said in a statement.
