Canberra, July 16 -- An Australian team, studying further aspects of communication revealed that the timing of eye contact is crucial to how we communicate with both humans and robots.
A multi-field study, the research covered not merely AI, but also integrated human psychology, and social studies, as communication is a key aspect in all these fields.
Researchers have found that not just making eye contact, but when and how it's done, fundamentally shapes how we understand others, including robots, according to a statement from the HAVIC Lab (Human, Artificial + Virtual Interactive Cognition) at Australia's Flinders University today.
