Canberra, Aug. 25 -- Australia's greenhouse gas emissions fell by 1.4 percent in the 12 month period to March 2025, according to a government report published today.

The quarterly report on emissions from the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) said that Australia produced 440.2 million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions in the year to March, down from 446.7 million tonnes in the preceding 12 months.

The report said, Australia's emissions in the year to March were 28 percent lower than in the calendar year 2005. Under the Paris Agreement, Australia has committed to cutting its emissions by at least 43 percent from 2005 levels by 2030.
