Kathmandu, Feb. 24 -- Flagging "ongoing attempts to disrupt" the electoral process, Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist), Chairman and former Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli on Monday asserted that voters must be free to cast their ballots independently in the March 5 general elections in the Himalayan nation.

Addressing the announcement assembly of the party's National 'Volunteer Force' Koshi Province Committee in Damak, Oli pointed to what he described as ongoing attempts to disrupt the electoral process and urged the government to ensure that the elections are conducted in a free, fair, and intimidation-free environment.
