Ankara, Dec. 2 -- Ankara "cannot in any way" excuse the recent attacks on commercial tankers off Turkiye's Black Sea coast, and has issued warnings to all relevant parties, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said.
The attacks within Turkiye's exclusive economic zone indicate "an alarming escalation" of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, which "clearly threatens navigational safety in the Black Sea," Erdogan said after a cabinet meeting.
The oil tankers which were heaidng for Russia near Turkiye's Black Sea coast were attacked.
Ankara is monitoring "the recent momentum toward ending the war," and "stands ready to make the necessary contributions" to efforts aimed at settling, he added.
