New Delhi, Sept. 3 -- The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has taken suo motu cognisance of a media report concerning the attack on a journalist in the Papadahandi area of Nabarangpur district, Odisha.
The attack has sparked outrage among journalists and residents in the district.
The incident, which occurred on August 29, involved a drug addict stabbing the journalist multiple times after the victim filed a complaint against him, said the top rights body in a statement here.
The journalist is currently hospitalised in critical condition.
