Rio De Janeiro, Aug. 9 -- Brazilian attacking midfielder Reinier has joined Atletico Mineiro from Real Madrid on a deal running until December 2029, the clubs said today.

The 23-year-old, a Flamengo youth academy graduate who helped the Rio de Janeiro side win the Copa Libertadores and Brazilian Serie A in 2019, returns to Brazil after five years in Europe without making a senior appearance for Madrid.

"I wanted a home and I think I found the right one. I'm certain that Atletico is my new home," said the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games gold medalist with Brazil.

Signed by Real Madrid in 2020 for 30 million euros, Reinier initially played for the Spanish side's reserve team Castilla, before loan spells at Borussia Dortmund, Girona, Frosinone ...
