New Delhi, Feb. 23 -- The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday announced that former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi will be the Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly.
She is the first woman Leader of Opposition in the House.
The announcement was made by AAP's Delhi state President Gopal Rai today. He said that today a meeting of the AAP Legislature Party was held in which the MLAs unanimously elected Atishi as the Leader of Opposition.
Rai said that Atishi has served as the Chief Minister of Delhi very well. As the Leader of Opposition, she will have the responsibility of protecting the work done by the Kejriwal government and fulfilling the promises made by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to the people.
