London, Dec. 8 -- Aston Villa threw the race for the Premier League title wide open at the weekend with a 2-1 home win over Arsenal.
The result leaves Aston Villa third in the standings, three points behind Arsenal, while Manchester City moved to within two points of Mikel Arteta's side after a 3-0 home win over Sunderland.
Emi Buendia was Aston Villa's hero as he scored the winning goal with the last kick of the game, after Leandro Trossard's 52nd-minute equalizer had cancelled out Matty Cash's 36th-minute opener for a Villa side that has now won six consecutive league games.
