Sonbhadra, Dec. 27 -- In a major action against illegal drug trafficking, assets worth around Rs 30 crore belonging to Bhola Prasad Jaiswal, an accused in a codeine-based cough syrup racket, will be seized.

A court has issued a notice for the attachment of the properties.

Superintendent of Police Abhishek Verma said on Saturday that during the investigation by Sonbhadra police, it was revealed that Bhola Prasad Jaiswal had amassed huge illegal wealth through the trafficking of narcotic cough syrup.

The accused invested the proceeds in luxury houses, vehicles, fixed deposits, and large sums of money deposited across various bank accounts.
