Guwahati, Dec. 18 -- The Foreigners' Tribunal in Nagaon district in Assam has declared 15 individuals as foreign nationals of Bangladesh origin and ordered their deportation from India within 24 hours.
An order issued by the office of the district commissioner of Nagaon district issued on December 17 said the declared foreigners should be removed from the territory of Assam through Dhubri/Sribhumi/ South Salmara Mankachar route within next 24 hours.
Following the order from the tribunal, the police have taken custody of the individuals. Officials said the identified foreigners have been lodged at the Matia Detention Camp and necessary legal and administrative procedures are being completed.
