Guwahati, July 24 -- Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced that the state government is streamlining the existing arms licence process through a dedicated online portal.
Addressing the media , Sarma clarified that the new digital initiative is not time-bound, countering reports suggesting a restricted application window from August 1 to 7, 2025.
"People can access the portal any time. It is not just for a week. I will formally inaugurate it during the first week of August as per my schedule," he said.
