Aizawl, Sept. 22 -- In a major operation along the Mizoram-Myanmar border, Assam Rifles personnel has seized a significant cache of arms and ammunition.
Acting on credible intelligence, the forces surrounded a house in the general area of Zokhawthar, Champhai District on Sunday morning, where they discovered a US-made 5.56 mm M4A1 Carbine along with several rounds of live ammunition.
The operation, carried out by Assam Rifles in coordination with Champhai district police, followed specific inputs regarding the illegal possession of arms.
The team, which launched the operation in the early hours of Sunday, cordoned off the suspected house and conducted a meticulous search.
