Itanagar, Oct. 9 -- In a successful joint operation against insurgency in Arunachal Pradesh, the Assam Rifles, in coordination with the Tirap Police and the Eastern Command Intelligence Battalion (ECIB), apprehended four senior cadres of NSCN (R) involved in extortion and other criminal activities.
A statement from the Assam Rifles today said that based on credible intelligence regarding the movement of a group engaged in extortion in the Deomali area, a Mobile Vehicle Check Post (MVCP) was established on Wednesday at 7 am. At around 10 am, a black Mahindra Thar (AR 12B 3333) was intercepted.
