Guwahati, June 6 -- Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday visited a flood relief camp in Hailakandi district in southern Assam, where hundreds of displaced residents are currently sheltered, as the state grapples with one of its worst flood spells in recent years. His visit comes at a time when relentless rainfall and overflowing rivers have impacted more than 5.6 lakh people across 19 districts.
