Guwahati, Aug. 6 -- Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today said that the state has witnessed zero dropout in higher secondary and degree second year classes and post graduation last year.

The chief minister said this while launching the Nijut Monia 2.0 scheme on Wednesday, with the state wide distribution of forms for the scheme at a central function held at Birinchi Kumar Barua Auditorium in Gauhati University here.

The Nijut Moina scheme is a welfare scheme launched by the BJP government last year that incentivises girls education by giving financial assistance monthly to girls pursuing higher secondary (+2), graduation and post graduation courses.
