Dispur, Dec. 17 -- Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday visited Gelapukhuri in Tinsukia district and met the bereaved families of those who tragically lost their lives in a recent road accident in Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh and spent time with them.
The Chief Minister also formally handed over cheques of Rs. 5 lakh each as one-time financial assistance to the next of kin of the deceased on behalf of the Government of Assam.
In addition, financial assistance of Rs. 1 lakh from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund was provided for the treatment of the injured person.
