Guwahati, Dec. 8 -- Assam's history and geography will soon be compulsory for Class VI, VII and VIII in Assam.

The Assam Cabinet on Sunday late evening has approved the inclusion of state's history and geography as compulsory subjects in Classes VI, VII and VIII.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said this while briefing the media after the cabinet meeting and added that the decision was taken following the recommendations of the High-Level Committee constituted for the implementation of Clause 6 of the Assam Accord.
