Guwahati, May 31 -- At least 12 districts of Assam were affected by floods on Saturday, affecting 60,000 people, even as eight people have died in floods and landslides across the state. While three people died due to floods in the past 24 hours, five others have died due to a landslide in Assam's capital town Guwahati in the last 24 hours. A flood bulletin issued by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) on Saturday evening said that 175 villages under 20 revenue circles have been affected by floods in 12 districts.
