Hyderabad, Jan. 11 -- The Asian Thalassemia Conclave (ATC) 2026, organised by the Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Society (TSCS), Hyderabad, in collaboration with Kamala Hospital Research Center, concluded here on Sunday with a strong call from global experts and policymakers to prioritise prevention to reduce the growing burden of thalassemia.
More than 400 delegates, including clinicians, public health experts, policymakers, researchers, representatives of non-governmental organisations and patient advocates from India and abroad, participated in the two-day conclave, which focused on coordinated strategies to address one of the most serious yet preventable genetic blood disorders.
