Mumbai, Feb. 14 -- With only two days left to file nominations for the Rajya Sabha elections, the BJP has announced candidates for three seats in Maharashtra here on Wednesday.

BJP announced the names of former Chief Minister Ashok Chavan, who recently joined the BJP from Congress; National Vice President Mahila Morcha; former MLA of Pune, Kothrud Medha Kulkarni; and State Vice President of the BJP, Dr. Ajit Gopchde, who has been announced as an official candidate.

The BJP has announced the official list today (Wednesday). Medha Kulkarni is from Pune, while Ashok Chavan and Ajit Gopchde are both leaders from Nanded. When Chavan joined the BJP yesterday, it was said that he would get the Rajya Sabha nomination.
