New Delhi, Nov. 25 -- The ash plume which migrated towards India, following the eruption of Ethiopia's Hayli Gubbi volcano, was moved out from most parts of the country by Tuesday evening, except a few parts of northeastern states, even as a few flights were cancelled or delayed, authorities said.

The volcano erupted for the first time in 12,000 years on Sunday morning, with the fumes reaching the country's northwestern parts on Monday night, but it was unlikely to impact Delhi's air quality, according to a senior official from the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
