Kolkata, June 23 -- A 10-year-old-girl was on Monday killed while a group of unidentified miscreants hurled a deadly socket bomb at Molandi area under Kaligunj assembly constituency in West Bengal's Nadia district where the counting of votes for June 19 bypoll was in progress, official sources said.
The victim's mother alleged that TMC supporters while celebrating the victory of their party candidate Alifa Ahmed had hurled a bomb in which her daughter Tamanna Khatun, a class IV student, was killed on the spot.
The mother and her victim daughter were going to a nearby water body for a bath.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed deep shock at the death of the girl.
