Itanagar, Oct. 21 -- Two residents of Namsang village in Tirap district, Arunachal Pradesh, were killed by a herd of wild elephants last night.

The incident occurred near the village school campus between 10 pm and 11 pm. The victims were identified as Tanen Nocte (46) and Nanthok Hodong (45), sources confirmed.

This marks the fourth human fatality due to elephant attacks in the Deomali area this year and the fifth within the past 12 months, highlighting the severe human-elephant conflict in the region. Among the victims over the past year was former MLA Kapchen Rajkumar.
