Itanagar, Dec. 20 -- Arunachal Pradesh witnessed contrasting political outcomes in the urban local body elections, with the People's Party of Arunachal (PPA) staging a major upset by capturing the Pasighat Municipal Council (PMC), while the BJP retained control of the Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC).
On the other hand, Congress failed to win any seat in either civic body.
In Pasighat, the regional PPA won five of the eight wards to secure a clear majority, dislodging the BJP. PPA candidates Tagom Padung, Mem Tamut, Oyon Pabin, Kamin Lego and Rahul Tamuk emerged victorious.
