Itanagar, March 22 -- In a significant crackdown on interstate drug trafficking, Arunachal Pradesh's Chimpu Police seized 4.497 kg of cannabis (ganja) and arrested four individuals linked to an organized drug network operating from neighbouring Assam.

This operation follows the Chimpu Police's recent success in dismantling a major heroin syndicate, Itanagar SP Rohit Rajbir Singh said on Saturday.

He said that on March 17, during a routine naka checking at Chimpu Check Post, police intercepted a Yamaha RayZ scooty (Reg. No. AR075985) and discovered 1.440 kg of cannabis concealed under the seat.
