Itanagar, Dec. 17 -- Acting on specific and credible intelligence inputs, the Khonsa Battalion of Assam Rifles, in a joint operation with Tirap Police, apprehended an armed cadre of the NSCN-IM faction during a search operation in Tirap district on Monday last, police said on Wednesday.
The apprehended cadre has been identified as self-styled (SS) Capt Chopsai Pansa (56), a resident of Chop village under Wakka circle in Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh. The arrested cadre was reportedly involved in illegal extortion activities and attempts to interfere with the electoral process in the district.
