Itanagar, Dec. 24 -- Arunachal Pradesh, which holds the unique distinction of witnessing India's first sunrise, is all set to welcome the New Year with the Sunrise Festival at Dong Valley in Anjaw district, scheduled to be held from December 29 to January 2 next.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu highlighted the significance of the festival, stating that where the nation wakes to its first light, a new journey begins with hope and promise.
"Where India witnesses its first sunrise, the nation awakens to a new journey. At Dong, the Sunrise Festival venue comes alive with the day's first light-warm, radiant, and just as it's meant to be," the Chief Minister said, adding that the festival symbolises new beginnings, peace and unity.
