Itanagar, June 1 -- The hilly Northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh continues to reel under the impact of relentless rainfall, with flash floods and landslides disrupting normal life across multiple districts.
The extreme weather has claimed one more life, while several individuals remain missing, and many others need rescue.
As per officials at the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC) of the Disaster Management Department, a tragic incident occurred on Saturday when one Guptajit Bharali was swept away while attempting to cross the flooded Sukha Nallah in the Upper Digaru area of Lohit district.
His body was recovered on Sunday at Lasa Pani.
