Itanagar, Aug. 24 -- In a major relief for retired government employees, the Arunachal Pradesh government has extended cashless health coverage of upto Rs 5 lakh per family per year to state pensioners under the Chief Minister Arogya Arunachal Yojana (CMAAY).
The decision, taken at the second Governing Body meeting of the Chief Minister Arogya Arunachal Society, chaired by Chief Minister Pema Khandu earlier this year, ensures that those who have served the state during their careers continue to enjoy healthcare benefits even after retirement.
According to the notification, pensioners can voluntarily enrol in the scheme, with ward entitlement for treatment determined based on their last pay scale at retirement.
