Itanagar, June 15 -- In a continued effort to build consensus on the contentious Siang Upper Multipurpose Project, Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Minister in-charge of Power, Chowna Mein, held a crucial meeting with members of the Siang Indigenous Farmers' Forum
(SIFF) at the Civil Secretariat here.
This marks his second interaction with the Forum regarding the Siang Upper Multipurpose Project (SUMP), which has been accorded National Project status by the Government of India in 2008.
During the meeting on Saturday, Mein reiterated the State Government's commitment to participatory development and assured the Forum members that their grievances and concerns are being heard and duly considered.
