Itanagar, Sept. 18 -- The Arunachal Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) today successfully conducted a state-level mega mock exercise on earthquake, landslide, and glacial lake outburst flood (GLOF) across the state.
The drill was conducted under the guidance of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
The exercise, coordinated by Major General (Retd) Sudhir Bahl, Lead Consultant (ME & IRS), NDMA, and supervised by Secretary, Disaster Management, Dani Salu, simulated a 7.7-magnitude earthquake with its epicentre northeast of Itanagar.
Sirens were blown at 8:14 am, triggering activation of the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC) and District Emergency Operation Centres (DEOCs).
