Itanagar, March 10 -- The Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly on Tuesday vehemently condemned the alleged racial discrimination and verbal abuse faced by three young women from Arunachal Pradesh in South Delhi's Malviya Nagar and resolved to convey the House's concern to the Prime Minister's Office and the union Ministry of Home Affairs.
The assurance was given by Speaker Tesam Pongte during a short duration discussion initiated by NPP member Thangwang Wangham in the Assembly.
Raising the issue, Wangham demanded the enactment of a strong Anti-Racial Discrimination Act to prevent racial abuse and discrimination against people from the Northeast living in other parts of the country.
