Itanagar, Dec. 11 -- A major tragedy struck the remote Chaglagam region of Arunachal Pradesh when a truck carrying 22 labourers from Assam's Tinsukia district veered off the road near KM 40 and plunged into a steep gorge, purportedly killing all but one worker.
Although the incident occurred on Monday night, it came to light only two days later when the lone survivor managed to reach the Chipra GREF Camp and alerted authorities.
Officials said the Indian Army launched a large-scale Search and Rescue (SAR) operation late on Wednesday after receiving the survivor's account of the truck accident along the Hayuliang-Chaglagam road.
