Itanagar, June 24 -- In a major breakthrough under Operation Dawn 2.0, the Anti-Drug Squad (ADS) of West Siang District Police on Monday arrested a suspected drug peddler, reportedly a school teacher, with 8.71 grams of suspected heroin in Aalo.
Acting on intelligence inputs regarding illegal drug activities in and around the Pakam III area of Aalo, the ADS conducted multiple raids and detained the accused, Bili Potom, from an OBT quarter, police said on Tuesday.
On-spot interrogation and confrontation with evidence led the accused to confess that he is both
a drug addict and has been involved in drug peddling for the past two years, according to the Superintendent of Police, West Siang.
