Itanagar, Jan. 6 -- In a major step towards promoting modern, technology-driven agriculture, the College of Agriculture, Pasighat in East Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh, has launched a 5G-enabled hydroponic farming laboratory, aimed at encouraging soilless cultivation and providing hands-on training to students and farmers.
The state-of-the-art facility has been established to demonstrate advanced hydroponic techniques for cultivating leafy vegetables and other crops without soil. Under the system, plants are grown in water-filled plastic channels, where nutrient solutions are supplied directly to the roots, enabling efficient use of water and nutrients while ensuring faster and healthier plant growth.
