Itanagar, Aug. 5 -- In a tragic incident, one person lost his life in a devastating fire that broke out
in Dongsar village, Mechukha, in Arunachal Pradesh's Shi-Yomi district in the early hours of today, police said.
According to the Officer-in-Charge of Mechukha Police Station, L Buni, the deceased has been identified as Yakir Doji, aged around 28 years.
"We received information about the fire at around 4:30 AM. By the time we reached the location, the fire had already engulfed the second house," the OC said. "Two houses were completely gutted, while another was partially damaged. All were traditional wooden Memba-style houses, which allowed the fire to spread rapidly."
