Itanagar, Oct. 1 -- Two labourers lost their lives and three others were rescued when a landslide struck Lapnan village near Khonsa in Tirap district, Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday.

According to reports, the incident occurred at around 11.30 am when a sudden mudslide, triggered by incessant rainfall, swept into an inhabited area where five labourers were engaged in work. The loosened soil collapsed, burying the workers under debris.

Rescue teams from Assam Rifles (HQ Khonsa), 36 Bn CRPF, SDRF, Tirap Police, and local villagers rushed to the site immediately after receiving information.
