Itanagar, Aug. 2 -- In a remarkable and culturally enriching initiative, the District Urban Development Agency (DUDA), Roing, in Arunachal Pradesh, has reimagined its routine waste collection drive by integrating the Idu Mishmi language into its public messaging system.

Moving away from the usual practice of playing loud music to alert residents, waste collection vehicles in the Lower Dibang Valley district headquarters now broadcast recorded messages in Idu Mishmi, an UNESCO-listed endangered indigenous language. The messages encourage citizens to maintain cleanliness in their surroundings, effectively merging civic responsibility with cultural revival.
