Itanagar, May 3 -- In a major breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking under Operation Dawn 2.0, the Ziro Police apprehended an alleged drug peddler and seized a substantial quantity of suspected heroin from his possession on Friday, a senior officer said on Saturday.
Acting on a tip-off received late on the night of Thursday, the police formed a team comprising SDPO Ojing Lego, Sub-Inspectors J Yomcha, J Doye, K Yigam, ASI C Tallo, and constable A Babla, under the close supervision of SP Keni Bagra.
The accused Toko Tath alias Bishnu's location was tracked using technical surveillance and field intelligence, eventually leading the team to a rented apartment near the Sumo counter in Hapoli.
