Itanagar, Dec. 6 -- Police in Naharlagun busted a counterfeit currency racket and arrested four persons and recovered fake currency notes worth Rs 1,12,000, a senior police officer said on Saturday.
According to Naharlagun Superintendent of Police, Dr Nyelam Nega, the case originated on December 2, when a written FIR was received reporting that two unidentified persons had attempted to purchase groceries using counterfeit currency at Polo Colony, Naharlagun. On being questioned by the shopkeeper, the suspects fled the scene, and subsequently, a case (No. 164/2025) was registered under Sections 178/179/180/3(5) of the BNS.
