Itanagar, July 18 -- As part of its continued effort to support and engage with its veteran community, the Assam Rifles conducted a comprehensive outreach drive at Khonsa in Tirap
district.
The initiative witnessed active participation from around 75 Ex-Servicemen (ESM) of Assam Rifles hailing from Tirap, Changlang, and Longding districts.
During the event, a total of 24 grievances were received from the attending veterans, with 12 issues - primarily concerning disability pensions, pay revision and lump sum benefits - being resolved on the spot. The drive also facilitated the enrollment of two unregistered Next of Kin (NoK) of ESM at the Assam Rifles Ex-Servicemen Association (ARESA) Centre.
