Chennai, July 12 -- The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) announced that Arthunkal Police Station, located in Alappuzha district of Kerala, has become the first police station in India to receive the prestigious IS/ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) certification from BIS.

The certification was formally awarded by the Southern Regional Office of the Bureau of Indian Standards - the National Standards Body of India - on June 24, recognizing the police station's commitment to excellence in service delivery, according to a PIB release here.

The IS/ISO 9001:2015 certification granting ceremony was held on July 10 at Arthunkal Police Station.

The event witnessed participation from senior police officials and dignitaries.
