London, Oct. 27 -- Arsenal beat Crystal Palace 1-0 at home to extend its lead at the top of the Premier League on Sunday.

The decisive goal came in the 39th minute after Crystal Palace failed to clear Declan Rice's free kick, with the ball finished from the middle of the penalty area.

Bournemouth finished the weekend in second place after a 2-0 home win over Nottingham Forest.

Marcus Tavernier and Eli Junior Kroupi, who scored with a 25-meter shot, put Bournemouth 2-0 ahead by halftime, and Andoni Iraola's side controlled the second half.

Aston Villa coach Unai Emery won his head-to-head against Pep Guardiola as his side claimed a 1-0 victory to make it four consecutive wins and end Manchester City's nine-game unbeaten run.
