London, Nov. 22 -- Arsenal defender Gabriel will be sidelined for several weeks after suffering a thigh injury while on international duty with Brazil, head coach Mikel Arteta has confirmed.
The 27-year-old limped off in discomfort during Brazil's friendly against Senegal at Emirates Stadium last weekend and subsequently missed their draw with Tunisia three days later.
Gabriel has been in excellent form this season, playing a major role in a defense that has conceded just five league goals as the Gunners have built a four-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.
"Gabi is going to be out for weeks," said Arteta, who added the defender will undergo another scan next Wednesday to give a clearer indication of his recovery timeline....
