Kolkata, Aug. 30 -- Arrested Trinamool Congress MLA Jiban Krishna Saha was today remanded in 14-day judicial custody after he was produced before a city court in the alleged teachers recruitment scam in West Bengal, official sources said.
Saha, an MLA representing Burwan assembly seat in Murshidabad, was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) from his house on Monday last for the alleged irregularities in the teachers recruitment for class IX and X in the state government-aided schools across the state.
"After spending six days in ED custody, Saha was produced before a special court (Bankshal) in the city, which remanded the lawmaker in 14-day judicial custody up to September 12," said an ED source.
