Guwahati, Jan. 4 -- The Jihadi operatives have already started fund collection drives in some Lower Assam districts, including Barpeta and Chirang, while mosques are being used to indoctrinate the cadres for the cause of waging armed struggles against the Indian state, police have revealed.
Assam police stumbled upon these facts during the interrogation of the 11 Jihadi operatives who were arrested from Assam and Tripura recently.
An Assam police spokesperson revealed these and added that the aim of the operatives was to foment violent armed activities in the name of Jihad/Islam and spread communal/violent disturbances in Assam and Tripura.
