Ayodhya (UP), Feb. 5 -- Around 60 per cent out of more than 3.70 lakh votes were polled for Milkipur assembly polls in Ayodhya amidst tight security arrangements on Wednesday, official sources said here.
According to the Chief Electoral Officer's office polling which started at 7 am continued till 6 pm. However, those standing in lines after 6 pm would be allowed to vote, they said.
The counting of votes will be done on February 8 and the result will be declared on the same day.
Sources said that polling was held peacefully and no untoward incident was reported from anywhere.
They said that an average of 65.25 percent voting took place till 5 pm.
