Las Vegas, July 21 -- : Veteran chess grandmaster Levon Aronian has secured his first Freestyle Chess Grand Slam crown, defeating Hans Niemann in the Grand Final to claim the title at the Wynn Las Vegas. The victory was accompanied by a substantial prize check of USD 200,000 (approximately Rs1.7 crore), marking a significant win for the seasoned player.
Following a thrilling final, Niemann, who was the runner-up, will take home a hefty USD140,000 (approximately Rs1.2 crore). World number one Magnus Carlsen finished in third place, earning USD100,000 (approximately Rs 84 lakh) for his performance.
